BAGHDAD / NINA / The British Foreign Secretary William Haig said on Thursday that the unity of the politicians and the formation of a national government were the ones which will prevent the terrorists from achieving their goals.
He said in a press conference held today in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the political unity in Iraq that will determine the progress of terrorists or not.
He called for "the government to work with the Kurdistan region to solve problems related to oil and support the displaced, stressing that the unity government is capable of securing external support for the defeat of terrorism.
Haig added that he spoke with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and political leaders and there is a strong realization to form an inclusive government, noting that this matter is a subject to the decision of the Iraqis.
He said that Britain can provide diplomatic and military support to Iraq and support for the displaced, especially as they sent a team to experience the displaced people in northern Iraq and has allocated five million pounds for the purposes of emergency aid for the displaced
