 ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates,  Feb. 20, 2013  /PRNewswire/ -- RaytheonCompany (NYSE: RTN) received a U.S. Army fiscal year 2012 contract for theproduction of Excalibur Increment Ib precision-guided projectiles. The  $56.6million  contract, awarded in December, marks the start of low-rate initialproduction (LRIP) of Excalibur Ib.  Excalibur  is a 155mm precision-guided, extended-range projectile that uses GPSprecision guidance to provide accurate, first round, fire-for-effect capabilityin any environment."The U.S. Army and Raytheon team worked tirelessly to take Excalibur Ib fromdesign to production in just a few years. The Excalibur Increment Ib round wasdesigned to improve reliability and lower unit costs while maintaining its worldclass precision for our warfighters," said Lt. Col.
