Muscat – The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP), in cooperation with Al Moheet, a training institute in Muscat, will launch a training programme for realtors soon.

An official of the ministry informed that the two-week programme will train 100 individuals, some of who are currently engaged in the real estate sector.

According to the official, the ministry will select 25 of the trainees for employment. “The initiative aims to develop skills, enhance knowledge of real estate laws and legislation, and facilitate opportunities in the sector.”

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the total value of property transactions in the sultanate in 2021 till the end of August was RO1,744,100,000, an increase of 14.2 per cent over the same period in 2020.

Oman government collected RO50.3mn in real estate transaction fees in 2021 in the January-August period, which was an increase of 21 per cent compared to the same period in 2020.

The traded value of sales contracts increased 51.1 per cent to RO770,700,000, and the number of sales contracts increased 74.4 per cent to 56,611 in 2021, compared to 32,460 contracts during the same period in 2020.
