ERBIL - Kurdistan Islamic Group, an opposition party in the Kurdistan region, valued the stance of the Kurdish  deputies in support of the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani high and called for an urgent meeting.

Kurdish deputies to the Iraqi House of Representatives boycotted sessions two days after a State of Law Coalition member Hussein al-Assadi accused Talabani of supporting terrorism for sheltering his vice, Tareq Hashemi, who is wanted by court under terrorism charges.

The boycott ended after Assadi apologized, according to Kurdish deputies. Assadi disapproved of making any apologies.

Speaking to AKnews, Shuwan Qaladzayee, spokesman for KIG, valued the role of Kurds high in reconstructing the New Iraq "but accusing Iraqi president( a Kurd) of sheltering and supporting terrorists is not fair."

He appreciated the stance of the Kurdish parties in this regard, saying "we are certain that this unanimity will help to reach our aims and obtain our rights," he added

Qaladzayee took the accusation against Talabani as a "dangerous" sign for deteriorating political relations. Therefore, he said, KIG calls for an inclusive meeting of political party leaders in Kurdistan as soon as possible so that the current situation of Kurdistan, Iraq and the region is discussed and necessary steps are taken to confront all the prospects.

The issues of VP Hashemi and sacking Saleh Mutlag a deputy for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in addition to the boycott of Iraqiya List ministers and lawmakers have created a new crisis.

VP's guards have confessed Hashemi ordered kill squads and bombings. VP has fled to Iraqi Kurdistan region, where Talabani refuses to hand him over to Baghdad as he regards the VP his guest.

Hashemi has denied the allegations, calling the evidence fabricated.  He demanded his case be refereed to Kurdistan or at least Kirkuk or Diyala province as he suspected the integrity of court in Baghdad- the demand has been turned down.

The request by Iraqiya List for solving Hashemi's issue in a due meeting of the political party leaders (called by Talabani) has also been rejected by major parties as it is seen as interference in judiciary authority.
