TEHRAN, March 2 (KUNA) -- Iran hanged on Thursday two men involved in the Ahvaz bombings last October 15, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
IRNA quoted a statement issued by the justice media department in Khuzestan as saying "the public death sentence was executed today at the scene of the bombings."
The statement revealed the names of the men convicted of the bombings, Ali Afrawi and Mehdi Navassri as well as the names of five others who were arrested for being in connection with the blast and received jail terms from two to 20 years.
Ahvaz, Provincial capital of Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province, was rocked on October 15th 2005 by two bomb blasts placed in dust bins. The casualties included six dead and more than 40 injured.
