Abu Dhabi, 18 December 2011(WAM) - Starting today, Etisalats postpaid customers in the UAE can take advantage of the UAEs first and much-awaited Long Term Evolution (LTE) service, on the countrys fastest 4G network.
Etisalat has made available the E398-LTE USB modems enabling customers to access LTE (4G) super speeds of up to 100 mbps. Etisalats 4G LTE network will allow customers to enjoy speed-demanding apps such as video-streaming, video-conferencing, networked gaming and more, at speeds not available in the country so far. Priced at AED 799, the devices are widely available on a standalone basis in all Etisalat Business Centers and Outlets across the UAE. New customers can also receive the device for FREE and access LTE (4G) services upon subscribing to Etisalats My DataPlan Ultra pack bundle on a six or 12 months contract. The Ultra pack provides customers with the UAEs largest data allowance of a whopping 20GB. In addition, customers get free hours of unlimited Internet usage and downloading from midnight to 3 am every day. Commenting on the launch of the LTE service, Matthew Willsher, Chief Marketing Officer, said, "We are very excited about introducing the first real 4G (LTE) experience to our customers in the UAE. The launch of the service and USB modems follows user trials that showed exceptionally satisfying performance. Etisalat has deployed nearly 1000 base stations and its current LTE footprint spans majors cities covering 70% of the population. Etisalat has deployed an FDD-LTE network that allows full mobility and smooth transition between LTE and HSPA+. For customers traveling outside of a 4G LTE coverage area, 4G LTE devices automatically connect to Etisalats 3G network, enabling customers to stay connected from coast to coast. Etisalats widest 3G network in the country is the most reliable high-speed data network. It allows customers in 3G coverage areas who purchase the 4G LTE USB modem today, to take advantage of 4G LTE speeds when they travel to other areas, or when faster network becomes available in their area.
