Dubai-based GVG Real Estate Development said steady progress is being made at the Emirates Touristic Resort, a mega mixed-use project coming up in Morocco, with its first two phases set for completion in the second quarter of 2021.

Spread over a sprawling 47 million sq ft area, the Emirates Touristic Resort features 350 modern residential villas and 36 hotel apartment buildings with lush green landscapes in addition to medical tourism centres, a spa, a sauna, shopping centres, restaurants, cafes, sports complexes, swimming pools as well as green parks.

With the work in full swing, GVG said it expects to hand over 217 units within the Moroccan project over the next six months.

The scope of work includes construction of 97 residential villas and eight buildings incorporating 120 hotel apartments.

Founder and President Ali Al Salami said the project is being developed in four phases, of which two are nearing completion along with the infrastructure works.

Giving a project update, Al Salami said: "More than 80% of the construction work has been completed on the first batch of residential villas, while the first batch of hotel apartment buildings is 40% ready."

"We are dealing patiently with the economic challenges posed by the pandemic; however, we have succeeded in securing the project's supply chains with steady construction and human resources and equipping the work site with the engineering teams and the required mechanism in order to continue construction works throughout the week," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
