ABU DHABI: Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, introduced its latest polyolefin materials for major pipe applications at the 14th Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition held on February 12-15, 2012 in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

Participating as a silver sponsor of the event, Borouge delivered three presentations highlighting Borouges solutions provided to all kinds of pipe systems that are made of non-corrosive materials.

Organized by the Bahrain Society of Engineers and NACE International, the Middle East Corrosion Conference is one of the worlds largest corrosion instrumental forums where industry leaders, corrosion management professionals, vendors and service providers from different industries meet to share ideas and exchange experiences and knowledge to help in corrosion management and control.

Borouges Vice President for Pipe Marketing Centre Khalfan M. Al Muhairi conducted a presentation during the event through which he focused on the high performance of high density polyethylene (HDPE) top coat system for onshore pipe coating, while Mohana Murali, Senior Technical Services and Business Development Manager, introduced the audience to Borouges innovative, high stress crack resistant HDPE materials used for pipe applications in oil industry. The third presentation was delivered by Jarmo Harjuntausta, Borouges Technical Services Manager, where he highlighted the polyolefin materials produced by Borouge for large diameter cooling systems pipes.

Borouges innovative solutions for pipe systems effectively address one of the major global challenges of accessing fresh water and sanitation. Borouge provides innovative quality and durable products conforming to the most stringent specifications shapes the polyolefin pipe industry with education and promotion of the benefits of high quality products and standards throughout the value chain.

Borouges polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) materials specially made for pipe systems are recognised with its flexibility, easy to install, ability to be welded, and free of corrosion and leackage. The highly durable nature of polyethylene and polypropylene high modulus (PP-HM) pipes makes them suitable for large diameter industrial water pipelines due to its good chemical and abrasion resistance.
