Etihad Airways has appointed Raffael Quintas as the new chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately, according to a statement on Thursday.
Quintas will be succeeding Adam Boukadida, who has left the airline after nine years to pursue a new role.
Quintas had previously worked as CFO for Portuguese flag carrier TAP Air Portugal and as corporate treasurer for Brazilian airline Azul Linhas Aéreas.
Etihad’s new CFO holds a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
“As we position Etihad Airways for post-pandemic growth, I am confident that his leadership experience and strategic insights in all aspects of aviation financing, from fleet planning to supply chain management, will help drive our continued success,” said Antonoaldo Nevas, CEO of Etihad.
The airline posted a core operating profit of $296 million for the first half of 2022, a turnaround from the $392 million loss recorded a year earlier.
