DUBAI - Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO said on Thursday that it was seeking to purchase 715,000 tonnes of wheat in an international tender.
The wheat is sought for delivery between April and June 2020.
SAGO Governor Ahmed Al Fares said in a statement the wheat is being sought in 12 individual shipments. The statement did not give a closing date, but traders said they believed the tender closes on Friday, Feb. 21.
The shipments will be distributed between the ports of Jeddah, which will take six consignments, Dammam, which will receive five shipments, and Jizan, which will take one.
In its last reported wheat tender on Oct. 21, SAGO bought 605,000 tonnes, with large volumes later shipped from suppliers including Germany, Estonia, Latvia and Poland.
