DUBAI  - Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO said on Thursday it is seeking to purchase 1.02 million tonnes of animal feed barley in an international tender.

The barley is required for delivery periods between February through March 2020.

The tender closes on Friday, Nov. 15.

“This is the last barley tender for SAGO for 2019,” SAGO governor Ahmad Al Fares said in a statement.

The barley is sought in 17 individual consignments to be purchased from global origins, he said.

Some 780,000 tonnes is sought for shipment to Red Sea ports and 240,000 tonnes to Gulf ports.

In its last barley tender on Sept. 30, SAGO also bought 1.02 million tonnes from origins including Australia, the European Union, Black Sea and North and South America, with the seller having the right to select the origin supplied.
