Cairo –   The Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage has received more than 3.5 million tonnes of wheat from local farmers since the beginning of this season which started in mid-April, the company’s chairman Sherif Bassily told Mubasher.

The state-owned company aims to receive a total of 3.6 million tonnes of local wheat until mid-July, Bassily revealed.

The government pays farmers between EGP 670 and EGP 700 per ardeb (150 kilograms) of wheat based on quality, he added.
