HAMBURG  - Algeria’s state grains agency OAIC has issued an international tender to purchase a nominal 50,000 tonnes of durum wheat, European traders said on Wednesday.

The tender closes on Jan. 24, they said.

Offers must remain valid until Jan. 25.

The durum can be sourced from optional origins.

Shipment was sought for Feb. 16-28 or March 1-15.

Volumes in Algeria's tenders are nominal and the country frequently purchases more than the volumes it initially seeks.

In its last reported grains tender on Jan. 9, the OAIC bought around 550,000 tonnes of milling wheat.

The OAIC’s last reported durum tender was in April 2018.
