ArabFinance: Egypt’s health ministry announced 115 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total count to 102,955 since the outbreak of the pandemic, according to a September 29thstatement.

The ministry reported 18 new fatalities, which increased the death toll to 5,901.

The country now has 95,586 total recoveries, after 506 new patients have been discharged from quarantine hospitals, according to the statement.

The World Health Organization reportedly said a test that can diagnose COVID-19 in minutes will “dramatically expand the capacity to detect cases” in low- and middle-income countries. This will be included in a deal with manufacturers to provide 120 million tests over six months.
