February 24th, 2017, Dubai, UAE

International leadership coaches Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, Kate Sweetman and happiness expert Alexander Kjerulf will be among key speakers at the 12th Human Capital Forum MENA. The forum will gather HR professionals from the MENA region to discuss their latest challenges including change management, employee engagement, training & development and maintaining a high-performing workforce in a tough economic climate.

The forum is taking place on April 30th and May 1st at Sofitel the Palm in Dubai and being organised by French business facilitation group, Naseba.

Leadership development has been highlighted as one of the top priorities of HR professionals in the GCC in Deloitte’s ‘Middle East Human Capital Trends’ report and takes center stage in this year’s programme.

Goldsmith, ranked as the world’s number 1 leadership coach, suggests that “strong, effective leadership is more essential than ever in the wake of the economic and political upheaval we all experienced in 2016.” Marshall will be delivering a keynote address on helping successful leaders achieve positive and lasting change in behaviour.

Sweetman, a global management consultant and the author of ‘Reinvention’ and ‘The Leadership Code: Five Rules to Lead by’, emphasises that flexibility in leadership is of critical importance, especially in tough times. “These days, leaders must change before they have to, in proactive ways that allows their organisation to leverage incoming global shockwaves”, she says.
In addition to effective leadership, ensuring that employees are engaged and happy at work is of critical importance to ensure high performance and excellent customer service.

Kjerulf, one of the world’s leading authorities on happiness at work, remarks that “happy employees are loyal employees – and in today’s constantly changing economic landscape, no company can afford to underestimate the value of loyalty.”

The forum’s participants will also tackle the challenges of organisational restructuring in order to ensure greater agility and enhanced competitiveness. In tougher economic times, companies based in the region have been forced to make difficult staffing decisions to deal with the realities of tighter budgets. Some of the biggest names in the region, such as Emirates, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank PJSC and Edelman DABO have recently had to lay off employees.

Keeping employee morale high following layoffs is no easy task, and it requires an emotionally intelligent and well-prepared HR department. Therefore, organisations need to focus on the importance of effective leadership development that provides an opportunity for HR professionals to create a positive environment and high-performance workplace.

Creator of the Human Capital Forum and CEO of Naseba, Sophie Le Ray, emphasized: “organisations understand that sustaining high-performing workforce requires a firm-wide commitment to developing leaders that are tightly aligned to organisational goals.”

At the forum, HR professionals will share the tools and techniques they rely on to motivate employees and foster engagement in tough times. Other topics that will be addressed include: “The troubled dynamics of nationalisation”; “Corporate culture and employee engagement”; “Change management and organisational design” and “Digital transformation of human capital management”. The forum’s attendees will also have the opportunity to expand their professional network through interactive sessions, icebreakers and group activities.

The forum is supported by Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Oracle, Shepherd Technologies, Ascender HCM, Riyadh Bank, Jordan Dubai Islamic Bank, GSK, Thumbay Group, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Right Selection, among other leading organisations.
