Tehran - Iran has so far received demands from Armenia, Tajikistan and Afghanistan to buy jet fuel from it and is planning to export the product to the countries this year.
Director of Exports and Imports of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Esmaeil Hasham-Firouz told IRNA Friday that Iran exported jet fuel to Afghanistan, Armenia and Iraqi Kurdistan last year and this year Tajikistan has also been added to the list of buyers.
Referring to five-fold increase in jet fuel exports in 2015 compared to the year earlier, he added that last year the total figure stood at 15,000 tons while in 2014, 3,000 tons of fuel was exported to Afghanistan.
As to Iran's plans to export gasoline in future, the official also said that an Afghan delegation visited Iran recently to demand buying oil products from Iran including gasoline.
Due to shortage of gasoline inside the country, Iran can't export it to the other countries, he said, noting that when Setare Khalij Fars Refinery comes on stream late in autumn, gasoline exports will begin.
The refinery will produce 12 million liters of gasoline a day, four million liters more than what is needed by the country, which can be exported to other states including Afghanistan, Hasham-Firouz said.
