Best Student Company of the year 2017' went to" Youth Creation" for the University category and" Agrivage" for the High School category

Kuwait - Under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr. Mohammad Al Fares, INJAZ-Kuwait successfully concluded its annual Company Program Competition (CPC), which was held at the JW Marriott Hotel on 11 and 12 May, 2017.

The CPC was followed by an award ceremony for the winning students from Kuwait’s high schools and universities. Present at the ceremony were representatives from INJAZ- Kuwait, students and their parents, teachers and management from the education sector, in addition to INJAZ’s Super Hero volunteers, INJAZ Kuwait’s sponsors, partners and media representatives also attended the event.

This year 13 student companies were featured, and a total of 150 participating students, from private and public schools and universities, competed for the winning title of ‘Best Student Company of the Year 2017’. 

During the ceremony, winners of the Company Program were announced where the ‘Best Student Company of the Year 2017’ award for the Universities category, sponsored by Gulf Bank, went to “Youth Creation” and for the high school category; “Agrivage ". The two winning companies will be representing Kuwait in the INJAZ Al-Arab regional competition. The ‘Most Innovative Product’ award was presented to “Youth Creation” for the universities category and to “D-Stress” for the high school category, which was sponsored by Zain and last but not least, the ‘Student Company with the Best Social Impact’ award went to “ASAS” for the universities category and “Draiwil” for the high schools category, which was sponsored by Alghanim Industries.

The student companies were reviewed, assessed and selected based on their performance when presenting their company and the product or service they are offering through the project. They were also assessed based on their performance during a set of interviews conducted by a panel of high-profile local business leaders from the private sector, throughout the two day event.

Mrs. Rana Al-Nibari, INJAZ-Kuwait CEO, also expressed her  happiness as she  congratulated the winners of the competition, said: “We are pleased to celebrate the successful conclusion of INJAZ Kuwait’s Company Program, through which we seek to reward ambitious youth who aspire to establish their own private businesses in the future, to be tomorrow’s pioneers and business leaders. I would like to congratulate the winning teams, who have witnessed the result of their innovative and creative efforts, and were able to work and deliver in a business like environment. For years now, INJAZ Kuwait has fully dedicated its efforts to making a difference in the lives of Kuwait’s youth and to invest in their positive energy and to encourage them by ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and understanding of entrepreneurship and financial literacy through INJAZ Kuwait’s educational programs. INJAZ Kuwait has a long term impact and plays a vital role in outlining the students futures as entrepreneur and their roles as tomorrow’s leaders, and ultimately, creating a more prosperous Kuwait”.

Al-Nibari added: “Over the years and with the on-going support of our partners and volunteers who contribute their time, efforts and knowledge to train and guide students from Kuwait’s high schools and universities, INJAZ Kuwait is proud to announce that it has trained and benefited more than 50,000 students. This reinforces the importance of investing in our nation and highlights INJAZ Kuwait’s message which is to equip youth to succeed in their professional and practical lives to uplift them in an environment that is dominated by the entrepreneurship concept. By pursuing this strategy, INJAZ Kuwait will continue to foster more students with the aim of creating well educated generations that believe in investing in the future of our beloved Kuwait”.

Moreover; INJAZ Kuwait held an honorary ceremony on Thursday evening, 11 May at the JW Marriott Hotel, to recognize the efforts of all individuals and entities that have supported and sponsored INJAZ Kuwait and volunteered, throughout the 2016/2017 academic year.

The Company Program is one of INJAZ-Kuwait’s flagship programs, and one of its most popular programs among students. Its objective is to foster the ideas and initiatives of young entrepreneurs by offering them the help required develop actual business concepts, under the leadership and guidance of business leaders and volunteers.

Since INJAZ Kuwait’s launch in 2005, it has reached more than 50,000 students through the generous contributions of more than 1000 volunteers from private companies in Kuwait. For this year’s round of the CPC, 434 students successfully completed the program, and INJAZ Kuwait continues to equip and support youth, to ensure a more prosperous future for generations to come.
