The Communication Committee of the Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan held its first committee meeting to discuss the 2017 media plan.

Last November, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum unveiled the AED 1.3 billion plan to turn the mountain city of Hatta into a world-class tourist destination. The plan includes hundreds of homes for Emiratis, green areas for winter sports and a mountain track circuit. It also features a cultural festival and scholarships for young people.

The Media Communication Committee formed by the Government of Dubai Media Office, which is in charge of all media related issues of the Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan, comprises of communication representatives from the main entities involved in the development plan. The Committee reviewed ideas and suggestions to provide communication support for the development plan in an innovative way using both traditional media outlets and social media platforms over the next few months.

Project Manager of Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan – Executive Office Al-Maydi Al-Badawi praised the efforts of the entities involved in the development plan, as well as the role played by the communication committee in tracking the progress of the Comprehensive Development Plan and keeping the public, mainly Hatta’s citizens, informed about the progress of the project.

Strategic Communications Manager at Government of Dubai Media Office Noora Yousuf Al-Mansoori said that the committee members discussed the media plan and the role of the various entities. Committee members also agreed on the media materials that will be published on various platforms including social media platforms.

Al-Mansoori said that the media plan for the Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan for 2017 will be finalised in the next few weeks. It will incorporate the media plans developed by the various entities involved in the plan, which aim to put the spotlight on the benefits of the plan. “The communication committee is keen to draft a comprehensive media plan, which is in line with the objectives of the Dubai Government, with the aim of keeping people informed about the objectives of the Development Plan and the benefits it brings to Hatta’s population and Dubai in general,” Al-Mansoori said.

The Communication Committee includes media and communication representatives from the following departments: Executive Council of Dubai, Dubai Municipality, Road and Transport Authority, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Dubai Culture, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai SME and Dubai Sports Council.
