Riyadh: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud donated SAR 20 million to charitable and non-profit activities through the recently launched National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan), which is an integrative technological portal that contributes to the governance, management, and sustainability of donations.
H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, President of the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), extended his appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this generous donation, which proves the leadership’s commitment to considering the needs of citizens and practicing regular charitable giving.
H.E. also expressed his appreciation to H.R.H. the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Chairman of SDAIA’s Board of Directors, for his significant support and direct attention to Ehsan platform. This comes as an extension of his keenness to support charitable work, develop the non-profit sector and increase its efficiency and reliability, as well as support humanitarian initiatives.
H.E. further affirmed that the Kingdom has always been a pioneer in the charity field. Its interest in this area dates back to the era of the founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and continues during the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and H.R.H. the Crown Prince. Dr. Alghamdi noted that this field has witnessed remarkable developments in the Kingdom as beneficiaries today are able to receive donations easily, safely, and promptly via Ehsan platform. This, H.E. added, highlights the keenness of the Kingdom to promote digital transformation in charitable and non-profit activities as well as other sectors.
It is worthy of note that Ehsan platform utilizes data and Artificial Intelligence to maximize the impact and sustainability of developmental projects and services by providing advanced technological solutions and building an effective system through partnerships with public, private, and non-profit sectors to strengthen the Kingdom’s leading role in developmental and charitable work.
Moreover, Ehsan platform’s supervising committee includes the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health, the Saudi Central Bank, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing, Presidency of State Security, and the Digital Government Authority.
