HAMBURG- An Ethiopian government agency has received five offers in an international tender to buy 400,000 tonnes of milling wheat which closed on July 24, European traders said on Tuesday.

After the technical aspects of their offers were approved, the five submitted price offers which are now being considered and no purchase has yet been made, traders said.

Offers were submitted by Aston, Huyton and three regional trading houses, they said.

Ethiopia had on June 9 cancelled a planned purchase of 400,000 tonnes of wheat provisionally bought in May. The country continues to feel the impact of continued drought which devastated farms in some regions.
