ArabFinance: All passengers traveling from Egypt to the UAE through Dubai Airport Authority (DXB) are required to provide a COVID-19 negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test prior to their departure, state-owned EgyptAir announced.

Effective from July 12th and until further notice, the new requirement comes in light of the travel procedures’ updates by DXB amid the outbreak of coronavirus.

The PCR result, however, should be obtained from any of the approved test labs by the UAE embassy in Egypt.

PCR tests are considered valid for 96 hours before departure from the origin airport to DXB, as reported by Gulf News.

DXB also requires that a PCR test to be repeated for tourists who had tested negative before departing to Dubai yet show COVID-19 symptoms, according to the procedures taken by the crisis and disaster management committee.

Until press time, the UAE registered 54,854 total infections and 333 fatalities.
