Dubai, United Arab Emirates: A plethora of public and private sector career opportunities await tens of thousands of Emirati graduates and job seekers at Careers UAE 2019 – the UAE’s the leading recruitment and training fair for UAE nationals – which opens tomorrow (Tuesday 19th March).

Running 19 to 21 March at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), Careers UAE is held in conjunction with the UAE’s Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and the Ministry of Education.

The win-win appeal of the 19th edition of Careers UAE – where employers get to meet and recruit young Emirati candidates. In addition, visiting graduates and job seekers can learn new application and workplace skills, as well as source on-the-spot career opportunities. They will also have the opportunity to meet more than 100 public and private sector companies offering a diverse portfolio of professional roles.

Some 18,000 job seekers are expected to attend Careers UAE 2019, with the visitor base of high school and college graduates, as well as those looking at switching career paths, taking advantage of a range of tailored knowledge sessions designed to better equip them for their first job or moving up the career ladder.

Other show features providing invaluable learnings for young Emiratis include live video training sessions on how to successfully participate in a video interview; CV clinics to help applicants build stronger resumes that attract potential employers; and speaking panels where experts share tips for starting professionals and those looking to re-enter the workforce.

“As a career planning and progression event, Careers UAE empowers Emiratis to home in on in-demand professions and choose their education and professional development paths accordingly,” explained Asma Al Sharif, Show Director – Careers UAE 2019. “The three-day show boasts multiple benefits for both employers and prospective employees, giving both sides of the employment coin a tailored platform to network, recruit and demonstrate their long-term commitment to Emiratisation.”

With advancements in technology disrupting the working environment and reshaping the required skill sets for the modern workplace, key Careers UAE exhibitors have revealed a robust commitment to training and coaching for leading Emirati talents.

According to Majid Al Futtaim, candidates will now require a different cache of soft skills - namely agility, curiosity and a mindset of continuous learning

“To ensure we are able to best support this workplace evolution, Majid Al Futtaim has embraced the change, growing our People Agenda away from simply servicing our Human Resources, to developing our Human Capital.  Within our move to an era of Talentism, we have set out talent development as a strategic priority for our continued success,” said Mouien Al Madhoun, Chief Human Capital Officer at Majid Al Futtaim Holding. “Careers UAE provides us with an unparalleled opportunity to meet the best and brightest local talent as we seek the most passionate, curious and versatile graduates to join our Majid Al Futtaim family.”

As a premier education platform, Careers UAE 2019 has once again partnered with regional experts to offer a series of features – training sessions, professional development workshops and motivational seminars – for Emirati job candidates, participating companies and HR professionals.

In addition, through the support of several industry pioneers and collaborations with niche groups, such as mums@work, Careers UAE will provide Emiratis with inspirational panel discussions and workshops on setting goals, how to dream big, and addressing inherent challenges when entering, moving up, or re-entering the workplace.

Among several partners at the 2019 exhibition, JobsforNationals.com will be arranging live video training sessions, while Bayt.com will be providing career counselling and a CV clinic for any UAE national looking to enter the workforce or switch careers.

“Video interviews are fast becoming today’s preferred interview style because they speed up a previously lengthy, multiple round, interview process,” said Danish Haidri, Founder & CEO of JobsforNationals.com – the local representatives for Sonru. “Our aim at the fair will be to give young Emiratis the necessary skills to successfully conduct themselves through a video interview which is the crucial first stage in getting noticed. Elements to consider include what to wear, how to approach the camera, how to choose the right background and how to troubleshoot difficult questions.”

Careers UAE 2019 will also include value-added features to boost the visitor experience. In addition to interactive activities, the show will roll out the Talent Hunt 2019 in partnership with online internship placement agency Oliv, where visitors get face-to-face time with hiring managers from major exhibitors in a speed interview format.

For the first time, visitors will be able to upload their CVs which will be stored on their show wristband when they enter the show so that they don’t need to bring CVs. Exhibitors can simply scan the wristbands and receive the CVs electronically. Careers UAE 2019 is exclusively for UAE nationals and HR practitioners.
