KUWAIT CITY - Chairman of the Committee for Preserving Historic and Heritage Monuments and Urban Development in the Municipal Council, Dr Hassan Kamal, said the ‘Phase III’ of the Shahid Park (Martyrs Park) project is 65 percent complete and expects the project to be complete by October 2022, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily added, following the tour of the park after attending the visual presentation Dr Kamal said some wooden structures and parts from the old skating rink will be preserved and used to create an integrated three-dimensional museum for display. He was accompanied on the tour by senior Council members.

Member Eng Abdul Salam Al Randi thanked all those in charge of the project for completion of 65 percent of the work and briefed on the most prominent issues and how to deal with them to preserve the 90 percent of the green areas as well as preserving historical and archaeological buildings. Ibrahim Ashkanani, Director of Contracts and Technical Accounting at the Amiri Diwan expects the project to be completed in October 2022 and indicated the third stage contains a main skating rink, a snow park, a special Skydiving corner, a trampoline game for adults and an electric cars karting track. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works has obtained the approval from the Central Agency for Public Tenders to re-tender the construction, operation and maintenance of the South Al- Mutla’a City purification plant and related works, reports Al-Anba daily.

 

The sources added that the scheduled date for submitting bids for this tender is December 28. The sources said the preliminary meeting to submit inquiries about the tender will be held on the Dec 7 at the Ministry of Works. The Ministry had recently submitted a request to CAPT to re-fl oat the tender and the Ministry attached with the tender letter a document including terms of reference for the device, the annual plan announced included in the tender, the opinion of the fatwa and legislation, the approval of the Ministry of Finance, the conditions to be met by the bidder and the qualifications required to implement the contract
