Adventure souls in the country have something to rejoice about as the sultanate will soon gets its longest zip line project. The project will come up in the heritage village of Misfat al Abriyeen in Al Hamra.

The Ministry of Tourism signed an agreement on Wednesday with two private entities in order to implement, operate and develop the project.

The agreement was signed by Al Masfah National Company and Oman Refreshment Company under the auspices of Adel bin Almurdas al Busaidi, advisor for Tourism Affairs in the Ministry of Tourism.

“The village of Misfat al Abriyeen stands for Oman’s rich past and natural beauty. The new project seeks to cash in on this beauty of the village for sustainable tourism development. It is also a boost to the partnership between the public and private sectors,” Busaidi said.

Hosni Mubarak al Abri, chairman of Al Masfah National Company appreciated the support of the Ministry of Tourism and its interest in the civil society to develop the host communities for tourism. “Our signing today will contribute to supporting adventure tourism in the village and attract more interest from tourism companies and operators.”

Youssef Ezzikhe, CEO of Oman Refreshment Company that is financing the project too lauded the one-of-its kind project. “I would like to thank and appreciate all those who contributed to the implementation of this project. The employees of Oman Refreshment Company have provided their support to the local community to enhance the tourism development process in the village,” he said.
