JEDDAH: Saudi transport minister inaugurated on Monday a new private aviation terminal at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Minister Nabil Al-Amoudi launched the new terminal, in the presence of Prince Abdel Aziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman of the General Authority of Sport, and Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) chairman Abdul Hakim Al-Tamimi.

Riyadh Airports Co. CEO, Mansour Al-Mansour, also took part in the ceremony and gave a speech during which he stressed on the importance of the project, which coincides with the opening of the Formula E Championship Ad Diriyah E-Prix this weekend, for the first time in the Middle East.

He added that this project is part of a privatization program to develop the airport’s capabilities, in order to provide the best services to beneficiaries, under the supervision of Riyadh Airports Company, which will be completed in only 8 weeks.

The terminal was constructed by Riyadh Airports, covering 3,000 m², with a capacity to welcome 100 passengers every hour.
