DUBAI - Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO said on Monday it had bought 725,000 tonnes of animal feed barley at its latest international purchasing tender.

The barley was purchased at the average price of $211.43 a tonne, according to a SAGO statement.

The origins offered were the European Union, Australia, North America (excluding Canada), South America and the Black Sea region, with the seller having the option of selecting the source country, said SAGO Governor Ahmad Al Fares.

The barley had been sought from global suppliers for arrival in Saudi Arabia during October and November.

SAGO said these purchases were made with prices in dollars per tonne on a cost and freight (C&F) basis, and delivery periods between brackets:

Red Sea ports (C&F): - 60,000 tonnes from Glencore at $208.18 C&F (Oct. 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Glencore at $208.47 C&F (Oct. 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Bunge at $210.00 C&F (Oct. 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Glencore at $209.38 C&F (Oct. 15-31) - 60,000 tonnes from Glencore at $210.48 C&F (Oct.15-31) - 60,000 tonnes from Louis Dreyfus at $210.50 C&F (Oct. 15-31) - 65,000 tonnes from Agrorodeo at $209.23 C&F (Nov. 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Glencore at $211.36 C&F (Nov. 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Glencore at $212.24 C&F (Nov. 1-15)

In its last reported barley tender on June 15, SAGO bought 1.08 million tonnes at an average price of $198.81 a tonne.
