HAMBURG- Iran's state grains buyer GTC has issued two international tenders to buy a total 60,000 tonnes of rice to be sourced from India, European traders said on Wednesday.

The tenders both seek 30,000 tonnes and close on Dec. 18. Shipment is sought in February 2019.

One tender seeks sella grade rice of type 1121, the other seeks sella grade rice of type 1509, traders said.

Offers must be made in Indian rupees.

"Iran was expected to show interest in Indian commodities as Iran will likely have a lot of rupees because of the waiver allowing India to buy Iranian oil," one trader said. 4

The GTC reserves the right to purchase 25 percent above or below the tender volume, traders added.
