Abu Dhabi: Emirates Defense Companies Council (EDCC), an initiative of the UAE Ministry of defense and Tawazun Economic Council (Tawazun), is participating at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) event at ExCel Exhibition Centre in London, UK, from 10 – 13 September, 2019. As organizers of the UAE Pavilion, EDCC will be hosting a number of companies specializing in sectors including aerospace, technology, security, and manufacturing.

Established in 2014, EDCC organizes and manages the UAE Pavilion at key industry events, giving members an opportunity to present their companies and services on an international stage.

The Pavilion will feature a number of members, showcasing their services and products, including a stand for Tawazun’s Economic Development Unit, as well as stands for Al Fattan Ship Industry, Aquila Aerospace, EXECHON, Safe City, Al Hamra Group, Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP), ADASI, Halcon Systems, International Golden group (IGG) and Rabdan Academy.

The Pavilion will also host delegates from the EDCC strategic partners, the UAE’s Ministry of Defense and the GHQ of the UAE Armed Forces.

Commenting on the participation, Sultan Abdulla Al Samahi, Acting General Manager of the EDCC, said; “As the global defense and security industry continues to witness growth and changes year on year, events such as DSEI bring the world’s key industry players together. This facilitates dialogue around a broad range of topics including challenges and solutions, and a chance to learn about the latest technologies and solutions.

“The UAE Pavilion also provides our members with the ideal opportunity to showcase and promote their products and services in an international landscape. We look forward to participating at this landmark event, which is entering its 20th edition to date”.

Al Fattan Ship Industry, who will be presenting their latest boat model during DSEI 2019, is a UAE-established and based company specializing in shipbuilding and repair. Their commercial activities include building of metal ships, offshore and onshore services, manufacturing, fabrication, repairs and maintenance of aluminum marine vessels and fiberglass boats.

Aquila Aerospace CO LLC will also be participating in the UAE Pavilion at DSEI. Aquila is the first and only Special Mission Aircraft Center in the Gulf, with the ability to offer a wide array of services, equipment and integration on special mission aircraft variants. Aquila provides a world-class service, indigenous capability complemented by the highest caliber aviation professionals globally, partners and manufactures sharing a select vision.

Exechon Enterprises L.L.C., which is a joint venture between Lockheed Martin, Tecgrant AB (formerly Exechon AB), and Abu Dhabi-based Injaz National, will be exhibiting their most advanced Parallel Kinematic Machine technology capable of transforming manufacturing processes and adapting to integrated factory workflows, as well as their patented technology and turnkey solutions

Safe City Group bring total turnkey solutions for smart and safe city projects leveraging the latest technologies and ideas to clients worldwide.

Also participating in the Pavilion is Abu Dhabi-based Al Hamra Group. Established in 1982 with offices in the region, Al Hamra focuses mainly on the supply of Military, security equipment, communication and services to the Armed Forces Law Enforcement, Civil Defense, Customs, and Ministry of Interior. They also represent and deal with several US and European partners.

Halcon Systems, a company owned by the Abu Dhabi-based Yas Holding Group, will participate in DSEI for the first time under the UAE Pavilion. The company is engaged in the development and manufacture of defense technology and is currently building its production lines under a funding agreement signed in February with Defense and Security Development Fund of Tawazun Economic Council.

Tawazun Industrial Park, will also be participating at DSEI. As a key member of EDCC, and host to other members, TIP is an industrial zone offering facility management and infrastructure services for local and international companies operating in the defense and strategic manufacturing sector.

Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI), will highlight a comprehensive range of services covering all types of autonomous systems solutions, starting with joint analysis of end-users needs, through formalization of their requirements, to equipment selection and procurement.

Recognized as a leading supplier to the UAE Armed forces, Ministry of Interior, and other defense and security authorities, IGG is getting ready to display its high-end products and services to the DSEI visitors.

Rabdan Academy, the first and unique academy in the UAE to provide opportunities for learning in a dual sector structure, is looking forward to the event as an ideal platform to share expertise in multi-disciplinary learning environment of choice for the continuing development and integration of safety, security, defense, emergency preparedness and crisis management (SSDEC) professionals.

EDCC was borne as an initiative of the Tawazun, the Ministry of Defense, and the UAE Armed Forces. It provides a platform that enables dialogue among key local and international defense industry players by facilitating effective networking & partnership opportunities, and promoting UAE business aboard through the UAE Defense Pavilion. There are currently 63 members, including EDIC, Mubadala and other private sector companies.
