Dell EMC Forum outlines role of ICT in the digital transformation of an ambitious nation

Riyadh: Dell EMC hosted its flagship Dell EMC Forum at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today. Following Dell Technologies’ first anniversary celebration as the world’s largest privately-controlled technology company, Dell EMC demonstrated its unparalleled strength from the edge to the core to the cloud, aimed at facilitating the economic directives of Vision 2030 for the betterment of the people and community across the Kingdom.

At this one-day event, Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President, Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Dell EMC discussed the importance of fostering public-private partnerships and increasing the employment rate to advance the national vision. In addition, addressing Information Technology as an enabler, facilitator and accelerator of the transformation envisioned by Vision 2030, he outlined the heightened need to adopt new technologies and most importantly, invest in new skillsets to drive the vision for the Kingdom’s digital future.

Recent findings of a survey conducted by Dell Technologies, across 16 countries and 12 industries including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, indicate that only a small minority (4%) of organizations surveyed have implemented digital transformation initiatives and can be deemed as digital leaders.  This points to a bigger issue – although digital transformation is central to meet the regional digital agenda, it is not yet a strategic pillar to many organizations across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

In light of the above, the agenda for Dell EMC Forum 2017 is strategically aligned to its theme – ‘Making 2030 Real’. From sessions on driving IT Transformation with Dell EMC Ready Solutions to Workforce and Security transformation and highlighting the power of DELL EMC Internet of Things Strategy, the forum addresses key areas of improvement across various core sectors in Saudi Arabia. The forum acts as a perfect platform to enable organizations to resolve pressing business and IT challenges in the public, financial services, energy, education, and SME sectors through the adoption of advanced technologies and power the Kingdom as a technology-driven economy.
