A massive outdoor ice rink is the star attraction of a major festival taking place in the Seef District.

The stc Winter Wonderland, a month-long festival, also features theme park rides, carnival games, local vendors, food trucks, musical performances, and live entertainment.

Organised by Motivate Events and Media in partnership with stc, the festival will run daily from 5pm to 12am until February 22 at the stc Tower in the Seef District.

This year’s edition of the festival is a standalone event which will also feature around 20 vendors each week throughout the month-long festival.

Motivate Events and Media general manager Ali Toorani told the GDN that they expected a massive turnout, with this year’s edition boasting exclusive carnival rides and live shows by local talents.

“This is the third edition of the Winter Wonderland and the main attraction is always the ice rink, that’s the big one,” said Mr Toorani.

“In addition to that, this year we brought in a wide range of carnival games and a number of carnival rides from outside of Bahrain, such as the Kamikaze which will be very exciting.

“There will also be shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays by local talents such as ‘Do You Really Like It’, and the ‘Kushari Band’ which are very popular and play at all the major festivals.

“We will also have local DJs, in addition to games to entertain visitors.

“We expect a large turnout, with at least 80,000 people from Bahrain and neighbouring countries, especially since we are targeting families and this is the only major festival happening at this time.”

A special launch event was held yesterday which was attended by stc Bahrain chief executive Nezar Banabeela, Motivate managing director Wassim Sami Farhoud, and Mr Toorani, along with other senior officials as well as a number of popular social media personalities.
