Ajman: The Ajman Department of Tourism Developments is participating in the World Travel Market 2021 (WTM) which is considered one of the biggest global events for travel and tourism, and is held at the Excel Convention Centre in London from 1 until 3 November. During the show, the department showcased the outstanding features the emirate has to offer to its guests and visitors, the latest digital solutions, in addition to using this platform to continue promoting Ajman as a competitive and leading tourist destination.
WTM 2021 is considered a prominent platform for the travel industry around the world, and is making a comeback after being held virtually in 2020 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. For that, this exhibition is an opportunity for travel developers and partners from around the world to convene in person. On top of that, a virtual edition of the exhibition will be held on the 8th and 9th of November, allowing a bigger audience from around the world to be a part of it.
Ajman Tourism aims from its participation in this year’s exhibition to promote its position as a touristic destination capable of attracting visitors and tourists from all over the world, especially British and Europeans, by shedding light on the leisure, recreation, cultural, historical, and all tourist attraction in the emirate.
International partnerships and representative offices
Pursuant to its development plans to increase the number of tourists to the emirate, the department continues to work closely with all international institutions and businesses operating in the sector of tourism industry, and participates in many major international events related to tourism such as the ITB in Berlin and the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai and many more bespoke and specialized tourism shows around the world. The department continuously collaborates with global representative offices to directly reach specific markets. In addition to the representative offices in Great Britain and Russia, Ajman Tourism considering the possibility of expanding this representation to target other potential and new emerging source markets to introduce them to the emirate’s rich leisure , culture, heritage, entertainment, and adventure sports.
Development plans for the Ajman, Masfout, and Al Manama museums
The Department of Tourism Development in Ajman also announced the development of a number of major museums in the emirate, including the Ajman Museum, Masfout Museum, and Al Manama Museum, which are considered among the most important touristic destinations in the country visited by tourists from everywhere.
The emirate of Ajman has transformed into an attractive tourism destination as a result of the fundamental shift over the past few years towards infrastructural projects that support the tourism sector, namely the archaeological sites that attracted large number of tourists, as well as development plans for facilities, beaches, and recreational areas.
In this regard, the department revealed the new features and services of the Ajman Museum mobile application, which aims to promote the museum and its landmarks. It is equipped with modern technologies such as voice commands, an audio tour guide, an interactive map of the museum, and a QR code reader and uses location sensors. This feature is considered as the first of its kind to be adopted and used in a museum in the region.
This progress comes in line with the department’s cultural agenda and strategic plans to support the Emirati heritage such as launching the Poetry Museum in the future, and organizing events and activities, and attracting investments in the field of arts and culture which is witnessing remarkable growth.
With regards to the show, His Excellency Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, said that the participation of the department in the World Travel Market, which is considered as an ideal platform for shedding light on the rapid developments of the tourism sector in Ajman, comes in line with Ajman Tourism’s efforts to improve this dynamic sector across the emirate by participating in various local and international events to raise awareness regarding the tourism product Ajman has to offer to attract more tourists from across the globe, in addition to launching new touristic projects and services in collaboration with partners from the public and private sectors which will greatly contribute to the development of the tourism sector in the emirate.
His Excellency clarified that Ajman Department of Tourism Development has made great progress in the field of tourism services, as part of its relentless efforts to achieve the vision of Ajman. And through the smart solutions, initiatives, activities, and events it offers, the department aspires to provide a unique and exceptional touristic experience for both visitors and tourists that we are sure exceeds their expectations and grants them comfort and good times.
A number of strategic partners and stakeholders are part of Ajman’s pavilion this year. These partners seek to achieve their goals and promote the emirate of Ajman locally and internationally as a unique travel destination.
