Qatar’s United Development Company (UDC), the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar is expected to award the main construction contract for the country’s first Corinthia hotel in the first quarter of 2022.

In March 2020, UDC had signed an agreement with Malta-based Corinthia Hotels to manage and operate the five-star Corinthia Doha, which would be located in UDC’s new master development Gewan Island.

“The bid submission deadline for the main construction contract was last week of October 2021. The contract is expected to be awarded by early January 2022,” a source aware of the project details told Zawya Projects.

The source estimated the project value at $100 million.

The 110-key Corinthia Doha would be developed on an area of 13,000 square metre with built up area of 46,881 sqm, according to press statements from UDC, Corinthia and AE7, the project’s lead consultant. The development will also include luxury branded villas, a golf course, and a beach club facility, seawater pools food and beverage destinations, and a cigar lounge.

AE7’s scope includes architecture engineering, infrastructure design, interior design, landscape architecture, master planning, pre-development studies, structural design and sustainable design.

The project is expected to be completed by end of December 2024.
