Work on the Baghdad Elevated Metro and Mosul Airport projects will begin after the 2021 budget is approved, a planning ministry official said. Abdelzahra Al- Hindawi told Zawya Projects that the minister of planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm has confirmed the inclusion of the Baghdad Metro and Mosul Airport projects within the 2021 budget during his meeting with the French Chargé d'Affairs in Baghdad.

He quoted the minister as saying that the two projects would have a significant impact on the development of Iraq's transport sector, which is a major driver for other economic sectors.

Al- Hindawi added that the projects would be developed as investments.
