Muscat: In line with its efforts to promote voluntary activities and its commitment to giving back to the community, the Oman Tourism College (OTC) recently organised a Blood Donation Drive on December 15, in collaboration with the Central Blood Bank. The drive took place at the OTC premises and saw the presence of over 90 members from the OTC community and the public, coming together to contribute to the cause.

Highlighting the importance of the campaign, Sariya Al Ismaili, Acting Director of Marketing at OTC said, “At the Oman Tourism College, we believe that activities focused on Corporate Social Responsibility are important to enhance our contribution to the society. Additionally, through the campaign, we aim to instill a culture of giving back to the community as well as raise awareness about the ever-growing demand for all blood types. Furthermore, holding the blood donation drive highlights the College’s values of promoting cooperation and teamwork and implementing it in a practical environment.”

The initiative was supervised by the Marketing Department and conducted by the Marketing Club who were involved in the entire organisation and promotion process. It provided Tourism Marketing students with first-hand experience, especially with regard to communicating with external stakeholders, putting into practice what is taught as part of the respective OTC courses.

“On behalf of OTC, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone from the OTC community as well as the general public who donated blood during the campaign. I would also like to thank the team from the Central Blood Bank who helped us host this successful voluntary event,” Al Ismaili added.
