Amman, Jordan: Basket.jo, the leading on-demand delivery retail application in Jordan, has announced the advancement of its partnership and collaboration agreements with Carrefour Jordan, joining forces with four Carrefour branches in aims to further enhance customer experience.

Earlier this year, Basket.jo started covering the flagship hypermarket store of Carrefour Jordan “Carrefour City Mall” and fulfilled a unique customer experience. Instead of picking up goods from one Carrefour store, the application is now listing a total of five different Carrefour stores in the Kingdom, which will ultimately lower delivery costs and enhance the delivery process. Through cheaper, faster deliveries, Basket.jo is made more convenient and reliable to its consumers by ensuring their orders arrive in a timely and efficient manner. Furthermore, the expansion paves the way for future collaborations as the company aims to add 10 more Carrefour stores, having a total of 15 stores by the end of this year.

Basket.jo’s room for growth is extensive. Aside from continuous expansions, they are currently in the works to develop a system that will enable the application to launch any new city in as little as three weeks, and any new store in just a few hours. This scalable model allows Basket.jo room for growth and ensures that they meet their customers’ demands at the click of a button.

The founder and CEO of Basket.jo, Omar Akel, expressed his pride in Basket.jo’s growth, saying “I could not be prouder of how far Basket.jo has come in such a short period of time. Being able to expand so quickly and collaborate with an increasing number of supermarkets and hypermarkets only allows for our company to continue to provide an exceptional, affordable, convenient, and reliable service.”

Akel went on to share the innovation behind Basket.jo, along with his aspiration, saying “This is the ‘uberization’ of groceries. Being that Basket.jo is an asset-light company – no warehouse, no cars, we own nothing – we utilize the gig economy like Uber does to connect users with personal shoppers to get their groceries shopped for and delivered. From baby steps to giant strides, I aspire to turn this into a billion-dollar company.”
