KYIV- Ukraine has exported 7.73 million tonnes of grain so far in the 2020/21 July-June season compared to 8.76 million tonnes at the same point of the previous season, the economy ministry said on Wednesday.

The volume is down due to a decline in corn sales to 603,000 tonnes from 1.85 million tonnes by the same date last season.

Wheat sales stood at 4.96 million tonnes, down from 5.09 million.

Exports included 2.15 million tonnes of barley.

The country is the world's fourth-largest wheat exporter with 56.5 million tonnes of grain sold in the 2019/20 season.

The government has said exports could decline to 47.4 million tonnes in 2020/21.

The economy ministry also expects the 2020 grain crop to fall to around 68 million tonnes due to poor weather from a record 75.1 million tonnes in 2019.
