HAMBURG- Tunisia's state grains agency purchased around 75,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat and about 50,000 tonnes of feed barley in an international tender which closed on Wednesday, European traders said.

The grains can all be sourced from optional origins. Confirmation of final tonnages bought was still awaited.

Traders said these purchases were made, with seller, tonnes bought and price in dollars a tonne c&f: Soft wheat Glencore 25,000 tonnes $200.10 Lecureur 25,000 tonnes $199.50 ADM 25,000 tonnes $195.02 The barley was bought at the lowest price of $192.68 a tonne c&f.

The wheat was sought in three 25,000 tonne consignments for shipment between June 25 and Aug. 5, depending on the origin supplied, they said.

If sourced from Tunisia's traditional supply region, the Black Sea/east Europe, shipment of the three wheat consignments would be between July 5-15, July 15-25 and July 25-Aug. 5.

The barley was sought in two 25,000 tonne consignments for shipment between Sept. 15 and Nov. 5, depending on the origin supplied, they said.

If sourced from the Black Sea/east Europe, shipment of the first barley consignment was between Sept. 25 and Oct. 5 and the second between Oct. 25 to Nov. 5.

In Tunisia’s last reported soft wheat tender on April 25, the country bought 92,000 tonnes at the lowest price of $210.98 a tonne c&f for shipment between late May and early July depending on the origin of the grain.
