HAMBURG  - A Syrian state agency has issued an international tender to sell and export 100,000 tonnes of animal feed barley, European traders said on Friday.

A mixture of black and white barley was offered from Syria’s harvest, said the tender from Syria’s General Foreign Trade Organisation.

The barley should be removed from warehouses within two months after the opening of a letter of credit on the deal. Offers must be submitted in the tender on June 23.

Syria was in past years an exporter of some grain types but has been an importer in recent years as the prolonged conflict in the country continues.
