DUBAI  - Saudi Arabia's state grain buyer SAGO said on Monday it had bought 900,000 tonnes of barley in its latest international purchasing tender.

The barley was purchased at an average price of $224.45 per tonne for arrival in Saudi Arabia in March and April.

The origins offered were the European Union, Australia, North America (excluding Canada), South America and the Black Sea region, with the seller having the option of selecting the source country, said SAGO Governor Ahmad Al Fares.

SAGO said these purchases were made with prices in dollars per tonne on a cost and freight (C&F) basis, and delivery periods between brackets: Red Sea ports (C&F): - 60,000 tonnes from Holbud Limited at $221.85 C&F (March 15-30) - 60,000 tonnes from Holbud Limited at $222.83 C&F (March 15-30) - 60,000 tonnes from Cargill at $223.60 C&F (March 15-30) - 60,000 tonnes from Louis Dreyfus at $218.50 C&F (April 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Cerealcom at $219.90 C&F (April 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from LLC Trade House at $222.00 C&F (April 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Holbud Limited at $222.85 C&F (April 1-15) - 60,000 tonnes from Soufflet at $222.20 C&F (April 15-30) - 60,000 tonnes from Holbud Limited at $223.87 C&F (April 15-30) - 60,000 tonnes from Casillo at $223.89 C&F (April 15-30) - 60,000 tonnes from Agrorodeo at $224.96 C&F (April 15-30)

In its last barley tender on Nov. 18, SAGO bought 1.02 million tonnes at an average price of $216.62 per tonne.
