MOSCOW- Russia would like Algeria to further relax its wheat tender specifications, Russia's agriculture safety watchdog told an online conference on Thursday.

In September, Algeria increased its tolerance level for 12.5% protein wheat to 0.5% bug (insect) damage in purchase tenders from 0.1%, a level which Russian and other Black Sea supplies cannot usually meet.

"Of course, we are very interested in (Algeria) continuing to consider these requirements to up to 1%," Olga Zakharova, an official at the Russian watchdog told the conference.
