(Corrects name of field to Waha from Wafa in headline)

BENGHAZI, Libya May 5 (Reuters) - Production at Libya's eastern Waha field has gradually recovered to about 75,000 barrels per day (bpd) after stoppages due to fighting and damage to the pipeline since early March, an engineer at the field said on Friday.

The field had been producing 75,000 bpd in early March before output was halted due to fighting around the oil ports of Es Sider and Ras Lanuf. The field started pumping again around mid-March before damage to the pipeline disrupted output again.

The field has a capacity of about 120,000 bpd.
