HAMBURG - Jordan's state grain buyer has issued an international tender to buy 120,000 tonnes of milling wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Wednesday.

The tender deadline is April 23.

Traders had anticipated a new tender after Jordan made no purchase in its previous wheat tender on Tuesday when only one trading house participated.

Jordan has faced difficulties buying wheat and barley in tenders in past months after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses.

The new wheat tender seeks shipment in a range of possible combinations in 60,000 tonne consignments. Possible shipment periods are Sept. 16-30, Oct. 1-15 and Oct. 16-31.

A separate tender from Jordan to purchase 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley also closes on Wednesday.
