HAMBURG/DUBAI- Jordan's state grain buyer has purchased about 60,000 tonnes of animal feed barley to be sourced from optional origins in an international tender which closed on Tuesday, traders said.

It was bought at an estimated $199.00 a tonne c&f for shipment in the first half of September.

The seller was believed to be trading house GTCS.

Traders said the following offers were submitted by the other participants in the tender, in dollars a tonne c&f: Holbud $212.50, Cofco $206.50, Glencore $206.68, Bunge $215 and Ameropa $215.

The barley was sought for a range of possible shipment combinations between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31.

At Jordan's last reported barley tender on March 18, it purchased 120,000 tonnes at $195 a tonne c&f for shipment in the second half of August and first half of September. 

Jordan also bought 120,000 tonnes of wheat in a tender on Monday.
