CAIRO - Egypt's state grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), said it bought 360,000 tonnes of wheat at an international purchase tender on Wednesday.

The purchase was made up of 180,000 tonnes of French wheat, 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat, 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat and 60,000 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat, the grains buyer said.

"The volume of Black Sea region wheat bought will be a disappointment to the west EU exporters," one European trader said.

"The French prices were cut repeatedly in negotiations and look low."

GASC was seeking an unspecified quantity of wheat for shipment April 5-15.
