CAIRO - Egypt's state grains buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC,) said on Thursday it bought 175,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in an international purchasing tender for the grain.

GASC had been seeking an unspecified quantity of wheat for shipment Jan. 20-31.

Traders gave the following breakdown of the purchase in dollars per tonne:

* GTCS: 55,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $261.00 and $13.80 freight equating to $274.80

* Posco: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $262.35 and $12.80 freight equating to $275.15

* Agro AST: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $262.60 and $12.80 freight equating to $275.40
