ArabFinance: The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation decided to extend the validity of the COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) certificate for certain destinations to become a maximum of 96 hours prior to flight time, according to a September 16thstatement.

The new procedure is subject to all passengers traveling from Japan, China, Thailand, North and South America, Canada, London Heathrow, Paris, and Frankfurt, the ministry elaborated.

It added that the amendment was undertaken due to the long travel and transit period at these airports.

All nationalities traveling to Egypt has been requested to provide a PCR negative test certificate as of September 1st.

Four international airports in the Arab republic offer a PCR test on arrival if passengers do not provide a certificate with a validity of 72 hours prior to their flight.
