RIYADH The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) warned against dealing with some centers outside the Kingdom that are engaged in circulating pictures of historical documents related to Saudi Arabia without its permission.

The Darah said in a statement that it had noticed that some centers, which are concerned with the studies of Arab history outside the Kingdom, inserted the foundation’s name to promote the sale of pictures of historical documents about the Kingdom to those interested in historical and documentary studies without obtaining its official approval.

Sultan Al-Owairidi, the spokesman of Darah, said that the foundation categorically disclaims its legal and moral responsibility for any sale or purchase of historical documents that are related to the Kingdom in which Darah is neither a principal party nor has granted its approval.

He warned that legal measures will be taken against those who exploit the name of Darah or its logo without its permission.

The spokesman called on researchers, scholars and interested people not to rely on documents that are sold by commercial means without verifying their authenticity and source.
