KUWAIT CITY - Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has set November 22 as deadline to submit bids for tender on infrastructural works in Khaitan area, around the administrative and commercial center, and plots allocated to public welfare associations in Jleeb Shuyoukh area. The tender involves the construction, completion and maintenance of various roads and services, reports Al-Rai daily.

Previously, CAPT set Oct 25 for the preliminary meeting with the Ministry of Public Works after it agreed to float the tender as one of the important tenders for which the Public Works aims to develop the infrastructure in Khaitan, including roads, drainage and sewage network, in addition to street lighting.

Reliable Ministry of Public Works sources said “The project aims to raise capacity of the currently established road to reduce traffic congestion, the rate of traffic accidents, and upgrade the safety and security levels on the road.” The same sources pointed out that the project includes the completion and maintenance of roads and services for the two areas, in addition to the development of internal roads and car parks for public welfare associations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Block 5.

In a separate context, Public Authority for Roads and Transport announced the opening of a traffic diversion on the Sixth Ring Road to the ministries area as part of the South Surra Road Development Project, calling on motorists to take caution while on the road.
