Kuwait -  The number of passengers travelling through Kuwait International Airport (KIA) rose year-on-year by 10% in November, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said on Thursday.

Passengers travelling through the KIA amounted to 1.163 million in November, compared with 1.056 million in the same month last year.

Passengers arriving at the airport totalled 593,300 last month, compared with 537,100 a year ago, while those departing were 570,000, from 518,900, DGCA’s Aviation Safety and Air Transport Affairs deputy director general Emad Al-Juluwi said.

Furthermore, the number of flights operated from and to the KIA came in at 10,087 in November, compared with 9,220 in the same month of the last year.

The Kuwaiti airport’s cargo movement logged 20.9 million kilograms during the month, rising on year from 20.3 million kilograms.
