Cairo - Mubasher: The board of directors of the Universal Health Insurance Authority (UHIA) approved the appointment of May Farid as an Advisor to the authority and Assistant to the Minister of Finance.

The newly-appointed advisor said that the authority has successfully attracted about $1 billion in financial aid, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.

The aid includes $400 million from the World Bank, $400 million from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as $150 million aid and $2 million grant from the French Development Agency (AFD), she added.

Farid will take on the management of projects related to these financial aids in coordination with the concerned bodies to ensure a higher return on these investments and improve the services provided to beneficiaries.
